About You:

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and track client job postings on the Contra platform, ensuring seamless talent connections.
  • Take ownership of matching top talent to relevant opportunities, optimizing success rates.
  • Engage clients through a multi-channel outreach strategy (email, calls, LinkedIn, etc.) to drive job conversions into paid projects.
  • Identify and capitalize on expansion opportunities, encouraging clients to post more jobs and hire through Contra.
  • Proactively address talent gaps by running targeted campaigns to attract high-quality freelance professionals.
  • Establish yourself as a trusted industry expert and thought leader, fostering credibility and engagement.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in creative recruitment or talent acquisition, ideally in an agency or startup setting.
  • Sales-minded approach—viewing job postings as a funnel and strategically driving conversions into paid projects.
  • Proficiency with tools like HubSpot, FigJam, and Notion.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect with the creative community and clients across diverse industries.
  • Passion for fast-paced startup environments, thriving in dynamic and evolving landscapes.
  • A proactive, results-driven mindset with a hunter mentality and a strong desire to learn.
  • Based in Toronto, Canada.

Total Comp:

  • Salary
    • Base: starting at $60,000-$70,000 CAD/yr
    • Additional Compensation: Commission based on jobs converting to paid projects on Contra
  • Health + dental benefits
  • Monthly transit/gym reimbursement
  • We will provide you with a laptop on your start date

Interview Process

  1. Intro Call with Recruiting Team (15-20 minutes)
  2. Interview with Hiring Manager (60 minutes)
  3. Paid Case study + Presentation case study (60 minutes)
