THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Plant Lead, the successful candidate will assume the role of Chief Power Engineer of one of our largest plants. Key responsibilities include supporting day-to-day operations, optimizing production processes, reducing operational costs, and ensuring that all activities are carried out in compliance with PETRONAS Canada’s policies and standards.
This exciting opportunity is based at a camp approximately 1.5 hours north of Fort St. John, BC. You'll enjoy a stable schedule with a standardized 14-day on, 14-day off rotation. This is a safety sensitive position, and therefore you are required to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

Provide advanced operational support and technical expertise in the efficient execution of gas plant operations

Collaborate with production engineering teams to address optimization challenges, maximize revenue, and minimize downtime

Assist in the planning and coordination of contractors and on-site maintenance crews to ensure seamless operations

Ensure compliance with Technical Safety British Columbia (TSBC) regulations, company directives, operational standards, and corporate health and safety policies

Participate in department projects and process improvement initiatives, managing assigned tasks and delivering regular progress reports

Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency by evaluating processes and implementing corrective actions

Contribute to design reviews and HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) studies to ensure safety and operational effectiveness
WHAT YOU BRING:

High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience
-
Minimum 3rd Class Power Engineering certificate
-
At least 5 years of experience in processing plant operations in the oil and gas industry

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel; familiarity with PVR, Navisworks, Bluebeam, SCADA, and AccuMap is considered an asset

Current and valid certification in, or the ability to obtain, H2S Alive, Standard First Aid and CPR

Valid class 5 driving license with a clean driver’s abstract
