What it’s like to be a Northbridge Catastrophe Modeler, Catastrophe Exposure Analysis

The Catastrophe Modeler is accountable for the complete, consistent, and timely detailed analysis of catastrophe risk data. They will assist in the coordination and communication of the portfolio-level catastrophe and exposure risk as well as development and support of risk management tools and projects. 

The Catastrophe Modeler prepares data and results related to policy, sector, and company initiatives that have portfolio-level impact.

We want your talent!

If you are great at:

  • Catastrophe exposure analysis and portfolio reporting

  • Designing and developing custom tools and processes to facilitate catastrophe modeling.

  • Identifying portfolio improvement opportunities.

If you have:

  • Post-secondary school education in Engineering, Actuarial Science, Geography, Statistics/Math, and/or equivalent on the job experience.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the property insurance industry.

  • Working knowledge of catastrophe modeling products and Geographical Information systems an asset

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications

  • Completion of CCRA, CRM, CSCR or similar Catastrophe Risk Accreditation an asset. 

  • Completion of CIP, FCIP, or other insurance industry education an asset.

Salary range- $70,000 - $90,000 for Vancouver, BC.
* Actual pay may be below, or above range based on candidates' knowledge, skills, and level of ability relative to expectations for the role applied to. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply.
