FLS has an exciting growth opportunity for an experienced Sales Manager to join our team, driving the execution of sales strategy for capital mining projects and products within our North American region (US, Canada, Mexico, Central America & Caribbean). The position will be based in the Vancouver Area and will require up to 50% travel. 

FLS’s Capital Sales team is primarily focused on transacting FLS mineral processing solutions, mine shaft systems, and materials handling solutions into greenfield projects and significant expansion projects at operations. To be effective the successful candidate will:

  • be active in a business development capacity in the region and establish/maintain an effective network
  • align with Global Key Account Management to provide local account management in key client headquarters & regional offices
  • have proven prior experience and relationships with the EPCM offices in the region
  • understand the breadth of product and service offerings and understand how to engage the appropriate FLSmidth resources to present the strongest technical offering and other key value propositions for our clients
  • stay up to date on mining news relevant to the region, ensure FLS is visible within the designated regional area, and identify qualified opportunities.
  • assist in the development and own the implementation of strategy for project pursuits
  • maintain an appropriate and qualified pipeline of opportunities in the FLS CRM platform
  • travel to conferences, attend/host industry events, and visit customers to best understand opportunities and position FLSmidth solutions and value propositions
  • Manage complex proposal preparation, review, and submission through order negotiation/acceptance and sales to operations handover meetings

What you bring:

  • Degree/certification in Business, Mineral Processing, Extractive Metallurgy, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering is preferred.
  • Possess a deep understanding of how mining projects are permitted, developed, financed and executed
  • 8+ years of demonstrated successful years in sales and/or project delivery in the Mining industry.
  • Experience in effectively interfacing with clients and gaining credibility; developing and implementing project-specific sales strategies.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Respect deadlines and works independently to reach them.
  • Possess proficient skills within the Microsoft Office environment, specifically Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint.
