Overview
Akustus is seeking a talented CAD Designer or a related field to join our on-site team. The ideal candidate has experience in drafting, is proficient in design software, and can create accurate, high-quality visual representations for interior spaces and acoustic products. This role requires the ability to prepare accurate shop drawings using the required design software.
Minimum Requirements:
College degree/CEGEP diploma
minimum 1 year experience in graphic or architectural design
Proficient in English (written and verbal)
Required Skills & Software:
Software: SketchUp, Illustrator, Layout, Microsoft Excel, Autodesk 3ds Max, AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
Highly organized and detail oriented
Familiarity with design workflows
Strong attention to detail and ability to distinguish colors
Excellent written and verbal communication in English
Creativity, initiative, and client-focused approach
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Team player with efficient interpersonal skills
Able to perform simple math calculations confidently
Responsibilities:
Adapt existing illustrations and develop accurate and detailed shop drawings using sketchup, adobe illustrator and layout for client approval
Develop realistic sketches, final illustrations, and 2D/3D computer-generated designs
Coordinate production for print, audio-visual, or electronic materials
Create 3D models using CAD software
Read blueprints, schemas, and technical drawings
Prepare sketches, layouts, and graphic elements
Use photo/illustration libraries and typography guides
Ensure adherence to deadlines and maintain high attention to detail

Experience with acoustic product visualization
