RESPONSIBILITIES:• Monitor, track and improve Key Process Indicators• Manage all in-house equipment builds• Review and implement Continuous Improvement ideas• Support engineering teams in ensuring that Plastcoat RFQ requirements are being met by our suppliers• Support engineering teams in ensuring that Plastcoat Equipment Standards are followed by equipment builders• Ensure that Plastcoat plant standards are followed• Ensure PHSR documents are received, and all issues closed in a timely manner• Work with the C.I. Team to control all electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment prints• Ensure all in-house equipment and launch milestones are on track• Review equipment designs and sign-off• Work with the Sales team to provide equipment quotes and cycle times• Support the Manufacturing Team to meet yearly Continuous Improvement target• Ensure that all Change Notification tasks are completed before due date• Review potential integrators' capabilities and be an active part of the decision process for integrator price negotiation and selection• Investigate new technologies to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness• Participate in "Best Practice" events to share lessons learned with other divisions• Conduct Ergonomic studies to improve current equipment• Ensure that all Ergonomic guidelines are met prior to new equipment arriving at Plastcoat• Ensure that all safety documentation has been received prior to equipment arriving at Plastcoat• Implement corrective actions for safety, quality, and audits• Must be flexible to travel to meet company and customer demands• Develop team members' communication, time management, meeting facilitation skills through coaching and mentoring• Develop team members' management skills of programs, projects, budgets, and integrators• Facilitate regularly held departmental meetings to promote function and communication among the team• Approve team labor in ADP• Maintain confidentiality and integrity• Supervise staff within the department, providing training, mentoring and performance management to ensure employee productivity and effectiveness• Perform regular formal/informal workplace inspections• Report all accidents/incidents and unsafe conditions/behavior• Train employees on the specific job hazards• Enforce safety rules and correct unsafe acts or conditions• Be involved in the accident/incident investigation process• Inform Plastcoat Management of any additional training or resources required by their employees to effectively perform their work• Encourage and support the Open-Door Process, as well as the Fairness Committee and Employee Advocate• Ensure that all employee questions, suggestions, and concerns are addressed in a timely manner; communicate regularly with all employees• Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations, promoting safety in the workplace• Comply with the requirements of CTPAT/PIP• Conduct business in an ethical manner in compliance with the Magna Code of Conduct• Adhere to applicable quality systems and IATF 16949 standards• Adhere to and promote the Employee Charter and work within the rules, regulations and guidelines of the Plastcoat Employee Handbook• Participate in and support Continuous Improvement initiatives• Maintain work area in accordance with the principles of 5S and operate daily within these standards• Ensure work area is kept neat and organized• Perform other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:• Minimum completion of a college diploma / University degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience
EXPERIENCE:• Minimum 2 years' experience in designing automation equipment• Minimum 2 year' experience designing in SolidWorks design• Minimum 2 year' experience building assembly equipment
