Business Management Manager — Technology (Canada, Hybrid)
Location: Canada (Hybrid – minimum three days per week in-office)
We can count on you- Own and manage the technology P&L: track, forecast and control expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
- Develop and maintain annual and quarterly budget forecasts for external spend (software licenses, SaaS, professional services, contractors) and perform monthly variance analysis.
- Create and manage Purchase Orders in Oracle EBS and serve as the primary procurement contact for the technology organization.
- Manage vendor and invoice workflows (Tungsten Network or similar), validate invoices against budgets, and maintain vendor compliance trackers.
- Support portfolio and resource planning via Planview (or similar), aligning resource forecasts to project plans and budgets.
- Partner with FP&A, Controllership, and Procurement on close, forecasting, accruals, capitalization, contract renewals, and audit requests.
- Establish spend governance, identify cost-optimization opportunities, and develop reporting dashboards to give leadership visibility into spend trends and budget health.
- 7+ years in technology business management, IT finance, program management, or related technology operations/ business operations roles.
- Proven experience managing multi‑million dollar budgets and full P&L ownership.
- Hands‑on experience with Oracle EBS (POs/Requisitions/AP) and working knowledge of Tungsten Network or similar e‑invoicing platforms.
- Experience with Planview or comparable portfolio/resource management tools; strong understanding of the purchase‑to‑pay lifecycle.
- Excellent financial acumen — forecasting, variance analysis, and comfort interpreting financial statements; advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and implement strategic programs.
- Demonstrated ability to grow client relationships and expand business opportunities within a technology organization.
- Experience in large enterprises or Fortune 500 environments, or a background in IT consulting, technology operations, or enterprise PMO.
- Familiarity with software asset management (SAM) and SaaS spend optimization, and experience with BI/reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI).
- Proactive, process‑improvement mindset with strong operational rigor and the ability to present complex financial information to varied audiences.
- PMP, MBA, or relevant professional certification is a plus.
