What We’re Looking For
At Benji Pays, we’re changing how Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and SMBs manage payments—and we’re looking for a Business Development Representative who’s ready to help drive that growth. You’ll connect with potential customers, understand their needs, and book meetings for our Account Executives that turn into real opportunities. It’s a great role for someone who’s motivated, curious, and ready to grow in tech sales.
What You’ll Do
- Proactively reach out to prospective customers through cold calls, emails, LinkedIn, and other outbound strategies to generate new business.
- Qualify both inbound and outbound leads by understanding their needs, pain points, and decision-making process—turning early interest into strong sales opportunities.
- Identify key stakeholders and tailor your outreach and messaging to resonate with different personas.
- Clearly communicate the value of Benji Pays, connecting our solutions directly to the challenges prospects are facing.
- Own, manage, and build a strong pipeline from scratch, consistently hitting activity and opportunity targets.
- Book high-quality meetings between qualified prospects and Account Executives, setting them up for success.
- Maintain accurate records of all activity in the CRM (HubSpot), ensuring clean and reliable pipeline data.
- Track your performance closely and provide regular updates on activity, pipeline health, and results.
- Collaborate with sales leadership to refine messaging and outbound strategies based on what’s working, and what might not be working.
- Stay up to date on our product, the MSP landscape, and evolving payment and pricing solutions to improve your conversations.
What You Bring
- 1-2 years experience in sales, customer service, or other client-facing roles—or a strong interest in building a career in sales.
- Strong communication skills—you’re clear, thoughtful, and able to connect with a range of people across phone, email, and video.
- Motivation to meet and exceed goals, with a proactive and accountable approach to your work.
- Comfort navigating challenges and staying consistent, even when things don’t go as planned.
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn—especially when it comes to understanding customers and new industries.
- Openness to trying new approaches and continuously improving how you work.
- Strong organization and time management skills—you’re able to manage multiple conversations and follow-ups effectively.
- Attention to detail, especially when tracking activity and keeping CRM data accurate.
- Familiarity with CRM tools (like HubSpot) is a plus, but not required.
- Bonus: experience in MSPs, SaaS, fintech, or accounts receivable/payments.
