What we do:
Halcyon is the industry’s first dedicated, adaptive security platform that combines multiple proprietary advanced prevention engines along with AI models focused specifically on stopping ransomware.

Who we are:
Halcyon was formed in 2021 by a team of cyber industry veterans after battling the scourge of ransomware (and advanced threats) for years at some of the largest global security vendors. Comprised of leaders from Cylance (now Blackberry), Accuvant (now Optiv), Fireye and ISS X-Force (now IBM), Halcyon is focused on building products and solutions for mid-market and enterprise customers.

As a remote-native, completely distributed global team, we recognize great talent can exist anywhere. We invite you to apply to a job you’re interested in and we'll work a plan to meet your needs.

The Role

Halcyon is looking for a highly motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our growing sales team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving new business opportunities, building relationships with prospective clients and generating leads within the cybersecurity and ransomware protection space. The ideal candidate is someone with strong communication skills, a proactive approach to sales, and a passion for the cybersecurity industry.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Generation: Prospect, identify, and qualify potential customers through inbound and outbound prospecting - calls, emails, and LinkedIn outreach.
  • Client Engagement: Engage with decision-makers in target companies to understand their cybersecurity needs, challenges, and pain points, particularly related to ransomware threats.
  • Sales Support: Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to support and execute strategies for lead generation, campaigns, and outreach.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain a strong pipeline of prospects and manage lead data within our CRM system.
  • Educate & Qualify: Provide relevant information on our ransomware protection solutions and qualify leads to determine their potential fit for our services.
  • Nurturing: Follow up with leads and ensure consistent engagement until they are ready for a deeper conversation with an Account Executive or sales team.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and ransomware threats to communicate value effectively.
Requirements
  • 1-3 years of experience in a sales development or business development role, preferably in the cybersecurity or technology industry.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of the cybersecurity landscape, especially ransomware threats, is a plus.
  • Experience with CRM and Sales systems (Salesforce, Madkudu, Salesloft, Nooks, LinkedIn Navigator, ZoomInfo, Gong, etc.).
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and KPIs.

In accordance with applicable state and federal laws, the range provided is Halcyon’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. Base pay is one part of the total package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and equity in the Company.

We understand it takes a diverse team of highly intelligent, passionate, curious, and creative people to develop the exceptional product we are building. Our dynamic team has incredible perspectives to share, just as we know you do, and we take great pride in being an equal opportunity employer.
