General Summary
The Business Development Representative is responsible for generating new Managed IT Services opportunities by identifying, qualifying, and developing relationships with prospective clients. This role focuses on outbound business development, networking, and consultative selling to organizations seeking IT support, cloud, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and managed service solutions. Reporting directly to the President, the Business Development Representative works closely with the Technical Service Manager and technical team to qualify client requirements, coordinate discovery meetings, and transition qualified opportunities into technical assessments, solution proposals, and managed service agreements.
Responsibilities
- Generate qualified Managed IT Services opportunities through cold calling, email campaigns, networking, referrals, and outbound prospecting.
- Identify, qualify, and develop relationships with business owners, executives, and IT decision-makers.
- Conduct discovery meetings to understand client business objectives, IT environments, operational challenges, and technology requirements.
- Work closely with the Technical Service Manager to develop solution proposals and transition to qualified opportunities through the sales process.
- Promote the company's Managed IT Services, cybersecurity, cloud, infrastructure, backup, disaster recovery, and professional services offerings.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline using Apollo, RingCentral, and other company sales tools.
- Attend networking events, client meetings, and local business functions to generate new business opportunities.
- Track prospecting activities, sales performance, and pipeline metrics while providing regular updates to leadership

- Previous experience in Business Development, Sales, or Account Management.
- Experience selling Managed IT Services, IT consulting, or technology solutions is strongly preferred.
- Experience with outbound prospecting, cold calling, networking, and consultative sales.
- Experience using sales engagement platforms such as Apollo and RingCentral is considered an asset.
- Ability to work on-site while meeting prospective clients throughout the local market.
Preferred Experience: MSP sales, IT services sales, Managed Services, Cybersecurity sales, Technology consulting
Compensation
- $50,000 base salary
- $100 per completed discovery meeting
- $250 per qualified opportunity reaching proposal stage
- 1% commission on first-year contract value
