Lead business analysis for Agile and Waterfall projects, gather requirements, design reporting solutions, and ensure platform stability.
This is a remote position.
Our client, a major player in the asset management industry in Canada with a global presence, is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join their Data Integration & Performance Platform team. This role supports critical data systems that power investment decision-making across the organization.
What You'll Do:
- Lead business analysis for both Agile and Waterfall projects focused on data and performance platform enhancements
- Document and communicate project scope, objectives, and timelines
- Gather and analyze requirements from investment teams and finance stakeholders
- Design complex investment reporting solutions using SQL and Power BI
- Define and execute comprehensive test plans
- Implement change management principles throughout project delivery
- Partner with technology teams on system enhancements and upgrades
- Serve as subject matter expert for data warehouse and performance measurement platforms
- Develop support documentation and maintain data dictionaries
- Monitor and resolve production data issues to ensure platform stability
Requirements
What You Bring:
- 2-5+ years business analysis experience supporting data warehouse platforms
- Expert knowledge of business analysis methodologies and requirements gathering techniques
- Hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases, ETL/ELT tools and design patterns
- Strong understanding of investment performance measurement and attribution methodologies
- Experience with the investment lifecycle and data domains for various financial instruments
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex data projects simultaneously
Bonus Points:
- Azure cloud platform and/or Snowflake experience
- Background working with investment applications such as Eagle, SimCorp, FactSet, Bloomberg or Aladdin
- CFA and/or CBAP certifications
- Experience with generative AI tools and prompt engineering
