Job Description :

Position Summary:

The Business Analyst (BA) ensures that the product and solution delivery aligns with Business objectives, providing clarity, traceability and accountability. Acting as a liaison between Business stakeholders and Delivery groups, the BA gathers and documents requirements, processes and use cases to translate Business and Customer needs into actionable deliverables. They conduct Impact Analysis, identifying necessary changes to existing systems and processes, and ensure the requirements are accurately captured in the product/project backlog. Identify and facilitate customer experience improvements, product/service expansions and operational efficiencies, supporting the design and development of well-defined and tested solutions in alignment with business goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1. Requirements Gathering & Analysis

  • Lead the assessment of client needs through a structured requirements process (gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing changes) to identify business and customer priorities, recommend options, and support the development process.

  • Critically evaluate information from multiple sources, reconciling conflicts, and distinguishing user requests from the underlying needs.

  • Identify and capture requirements for all aspects of an initiative, including Business, Technology & Operational.

  • Analyze and decompose high-level information into actionable details and abstract low-level information to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the solution needed.

 

2. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with Upper Management, Business Leads, Technical Leads and key stakeholders, providing expertise in various business areas.

  • Work closely with Business teams to identify and analyze core Business Processes and workflows, ensuring alignment with business goals.

  • Communicate with stakeholders of varying technical ability and subject matter expertise, ensuring that requirements are clear and understood by all parties.

  • Question established ways of working or decisions that may block team goals, proactively seeking improvements to processes.

 

3. Design & Documentation

  • Facilitate and drive high-level design workshops, analyzing and documenting use cases, and walkthroughs to identify gaps to enable production of higher-quality solutions.

  • Produce process models, journey maps, workflows, sequence diagrams, state diagrams, and other analysis artifacts that detail the customer journey and support product/system delivery.

  • Review User Interface Functional Specifications and other functional documentation to ensure alignment with business expectations and end-to-end solution integrity.

 

4. Problem Solving & Risk Management

  • Proactively anticipate and identify issues and risks, developing strategies to mitigate risks and support smooth initiative execution.

  • Support Product/Initiative Owners, Quality Assurance Analysts, and Technology stakeholders to define test scope and review expected results, ensuring alignment with business intent and requirements.

 

5. Quality Assurance & Peer Review

  • Actively engage in peer reviews, providing coaching and guidance on the quality and completeness of documents and deliverables.

  • Ensure that requirements and solutions are documented with the appropriate level of detail, completeness, and clarity to support business goals and successful implementation.

 

6. General Responsibilities

  • Support the organization's ultimate goal of delivering excellent service to current and potential customers, including internal stakeholders.

  • Adhere to Health and Safety standards, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members. Where and when applicable, use appropriate protective equipment and follow the organization’s safety guidelines and procedures.

  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the team’s success and evolving business needs.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

 

ACADEMIC TRAINING

  • Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma/Certificate in Business, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Business Analyst Certification (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) an asset.

  • Agile Certification (e.g. Scrum, SAFe) an asset.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 8+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Product Management, or Information Technology, within the.

  • 5+ years of experience in product or system analysis including requirements definition, feasibility studies, cost estimates, proposals, development, quality assurance, user acceptance testing and implementation.

  • 5+ years of experience in Business Process design, Process Improvement, and Requirements gathering.

  • Experience in the Telecom Industry (Wireline, Wireless, or both) is highly preferred.

 

SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

  • Strong analytical skills with the abilities to thoroughly understand and interpret customer business needs and translate them into Business, System and Operational requirements. 

  • In-depth knowledge of the telecommunications industry, including wireline and wireless technologies, and emerging industry practices and technologies for solving business challenges.

  • Experience with Business Process design using BPMN and Use Case Modelling using UML.

  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to define Business Processes and workflows, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and desired outcomes.

  • Ability to anticipate customer needs and provide direction for the product roadmap and development.

  • Strong planning and troubleshooting skills with the ability to “think outside the box” and see the “big picture” impact of decisions/actions.

  • Ability to actively engage stakeholders, solicit ideas and opinions, and facilitate discussions to achieve defined business outcomes.

  • Conduct in depth Root-Cause analysis, determine the potential causes of the problem, develop solutions to resolve the identified risks and devise testing methodologies for validation.

  • Familiarity with application programming, database management and system design principles.

  • Proficient in supporting multiple initiatives simultaneously and managing conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative, manage time effectively, and monitor own work for quality and completion.

  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and persuasively to a variety of audiences.

  • Knowledge and experience in leveraging AI tools to enhance Business Analysis activities.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Show respect for differences and diversity, and disagree without personalizing issues.

  • Bilingualism (French/English) is preferred.
