The Business Analyst supports strategic planning and market analysis in the power industry through research, analysis, and reporting to drive business development initiatives.
The Strategy and Marketing Analyst supports strategic planning, market analysis, and business development initiatives through structured research, analysis, and reporting. This role is well suited to an early career professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, a strong interest in the global power industry, and developing capabilities in market assessment, business case analysis, and data driven insights.
This role works closely with the Strategy and the Marketing & Business Development teams and is critical to advancing the company's strategic growth objectives. The successful candidate brings curiosity, strong research and analytical skills, and fluency with AI-based research and analytical tools to efficiently synthesize information and communicate insights clearly.
Key duties include :
• Support the strategic planning process through research, analysis, and synthesis of internal and external insights.
• Conduct market, competitor, and customer research to support business development, growth initiatives, and strategic decision making.
• Monitor industry news, press releases, and trade publications to identify emerging trends, market shifts, and competitive developments, with a focus on the power and energy sector.
• Support business case development and reviews by validating assumptions, data inputs, and financial or market based rationale.
• Develop and maintain reporting and analytical outputs, translating research and data into clear, actionable insights for internal stakeholders.
• Support campaign targeting and segmentation analysis to improve the focus and effectiveness of outreach and engagement efforts.
• Validate, organize, and review leads from conferences and events, ensuring data quality and relevance for follow up.
• Assist with monitoring, reviewing, and qualifying RFPs to support business development prioritization and decision making.
• Leverage AI enabled research tools and analytical software to enhance efficiency, insight generation, and synthesis of complex information.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in marketing, market research, communications, business, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategy, market analysis, or business development, ideally within or adjacent to the power, energy, or testing & inspection industries.
* Experience conducting market assessments, competitor analyses, and supporting basic business case development.
* Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative data into clear, actionable insights.
* Proficiency with AI‑enabled research tools (e.g., Copilot) and analytical platforms such as Excel, Power BI, or similar.
* Advanced proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, database tools, and desktop publishing software.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely.
* Highly detail‑oriented and intellectually curious, with a proven ability to build collaborative relationships across multiple teams and stakeholder groups.
