Senior Backend Java Engineer

We seek a Senior Backend Engineer with Java and .NET experience.   • You value writing clean, maintainable, testable code that solves business problems quickly.

  • Good teamwork skills and experience performing peer code reviews.

Must Have Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of production-level experience in Java and .NET (Core, ASP.NET, Entity Framework).
  • Strong knowledge of Spring and its extensions (Web MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Security).
  • Proficiency in SOAP and RESTful Web Services (XML, JSON, RAML).
  • Experience with Microservices architecture and unit testing using JUnit.
  • Hands-on knowledge of application servers (e.g., Tomcat, WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss).
  • Familiarity with Git, Subversion, or similar source control tools.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Integration Patterns and frameworks like Apache Camel.
  • Experience developing large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience with SaaS platforms or Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA).
  • Strong knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience in handling sensitive data security.
  • Good knowledge of SQL.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with FinTech or working with financial services, credit unions, or banks.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Knowledge of TDD and Continuous Integration (CI) processes.
  • Awareness of OWASP best practices for secure code.
  • Experience with Hibernate or other persistence frameworks.
  • Strong database experience (MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, NoSQL).
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure.
  • Expertise in Backbase digital banking platform integration and extension.

Location
This is a 100% remote full-time position, however, candidates will be required to be based out in Canada only.

Compensation

The typical salary range for this position is: CAD $90K-$120K annually. Salary offered will be based on skills, experience, and market data.
