General Summary  

The B2B Business Development Representative is responsible for generating new Managed IT Services opportunities by identifying, qualifying, and developing relationships with prospective clients. This role focuses on building relationships with business owners, executives, and decision-makers through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, and consultative sales.  

Reporting directly to the President, this role works closely with the Technical Service Manager to understand client needs, coordinate discovery meetings, and transition qualified opportunities into solution proposals and long-term managed service agreements.  

While previous MSP or technology sales experience is an asset, we are equally interested in experienced B2B sales professionals from industries with a consultative sales process who have a proven ability to generate new business.  

Position Responsibilities  

  • Generate new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, referrals, email outreach, and prospecting.  
  • Build relationships with business owners, executives, and key decision-makers.  
  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand business challenges and identify opportunities for Managed IT Services.  
  • Work closely with technical staff to transition qualified opportunities into technical assessments and solution proposals.  
  • Promote the company's Managed IT Services, cybersecurity, cloud, infrastructure, backup, disaster recovery, and professional services.  
  • Maintain an organized sales pipeline using Apollo, RingCentral, and CRM tools.  
  • Attend local networking events and business functions to build relationships and generate referrals.  
  • Consistently follow up with prospects and maintain accurate pipeline activity and forecasting.  
  • Achieve new business development and revenue objectives.

  • Professional, personable, and consultative in their sales approach.  
  • Naturally curious and able to uncover business needs through conversation.  
  • Persistent without being overly aggressive.  
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with technical teams. 


Qualifications  


Required  

  • Proven experience in B2B business development, outside sales, account management, or consultative sales.  
  • Demonstrated success generating new business through prospecting, networking, referrals, and relationship building.  
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.  
  • Strong organizational and pipeline management skills.  
  • Comfortable speaking with business owners and executive-level decision-makers.  
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently.  


Preferred  

  • Experience selling Managed IT Services, technology solutions, SaaS, telecommunications, business services, or other consultative B2B solutions.  
  • MSP or technology sales experience is considered an asset but is not required 
  • Experience using Apollo, RingCentral, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or CRM platforms 


Compensation  

Full-Time  

  • $50,000 base salary (flexible) 
  • $100 per completed discovery meeting  
  • $250 per qualified opportunity reaching proposal stage  
  • 1% commission on first-year contract value  


Part-Time  

  • Pro-rated base salary with the same commission structure.
