Summary Generated by Built In

Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn't work together.
So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions - to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we've embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.
Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes - large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We're building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same. .
The Role
We are looking for an experienced App Store Optimization (ASO) Manager with at least 3 years of experience in app store optimization and a background in SEO. You will play a critical part in optimizing the presence of Square's mobile applications in both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. You'll collaborate with teams including product, design, marketing, and analytics to ensure our apps reach their full potential.
You Will

  • App Store Optimization Strategy: Develop and implement ASO strategies to improve app visibility and search rankings across app stores (Apple App Store and Google Play Store).
  • Keyword Research & Optimization: Conduct keyword research to identify high-traffic, relevant search terms. Optimize app titles, descriptions, and metadata to align with search trends.
  • A/B Testing & Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO): Manage and execute A/B testing for various app elements, including icons, screenshots, and promotional videos to maximize conversion rates.
  • SEO Collaboration: Use SEO best practices to enhance discoverability of apps, ensuring consistency between ASO and SEO efforts.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor, analyze, and report on app performance metrics, including downloads, ratings, reviews, and rankings. Use data-driven insights to improve the user journey and in-app engagement.
  • Competitor Analysis: Keep an eye on competitors' ASO strategies and app store performance, adapting Square's approach as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work with marketing, content, design, and product teams to align app store strategies with broader company goals.
  • Review Management: Monitor and respond to user reviews, improving ratings and address feedback that influences app ranking.

You Have

  • 3+ years of experience in App Store Optimization or a related field.
  • Experience with SEO and familiarity with SEO tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush).
  • Experience improving app store rankings and driving mobile app growth.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using ASO tools (e.g., AppTweak, Sensor Tower, Mobile Action).
  • Familiarity with A/B testing methodologies and Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) techniques for app stores.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with mobile marketing and user acquisition strategies is a plus.
