ALM Solutions Architect

Iron Mountain is seeking a highly skilled and motivated pre-sales Solutions Architect to join the Commercial Team of our Asset Lifecycle Management Business Unit. As a Solutions Architect, you will be at the forefront of driving innovation and designing cutting-edge solutions for our clients, with a strong focus on hardware asset management services and end-to-end workplace IT solutions. You will be a subject matter expert in all areas of lifecycle and supporting services enabling technologies and tooling (device lifecycle management/DaaS, device configuration, disposal services, break/fix) in an ITIL framework. As part of the Services pre-sales team, the ALM Solutions Architect is responsible for the detailed assessment of customer requirements, development of service design, and cost calculations. Responsibilities:

  • Client Engagement: Collaborate with sales and account management teams to understand client requirements and challenges, developing comprehensive technical and service solutions that specifically address their hardware asset management, end user device, and broader workplace IT objectives. Maintain a presence with customers, develop/participate in customized demonstrations, detailed discovery, business process analysis, technical project management, and development of large RFP responses for these specialized services.

  • Solution Design: Develop innovative and cost-efficient end-to-end solution & service designs (technical, operational, commercial), involve vendors and external partners where appropriate with a particular emphasis on hardware lifecycle management, end user device deployment, and workplace IT infrastructure. Design against customer needs and requirements while demonstrating profitability for Iron Mountain..

  • Proposal Development: Participate in proposal development, providing technical expertise, scope definition, and cost estimation to support the sales team in winning new business opportunities related to hardware asset management and lifecycle management. Synthesize and communicate solutions into client-facing proposals, RFx responses, contracts, and SOWs.

  • Technology Expertise: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in hardware asset management, DaaS, and workplace IT solutions, leveraging this knowledge to recommend suitable solutions for client needs.

  • Stakeholder Management: Work closely with stakeholders, including clients, product managers, engineers, and external partners, to ensure effective communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle. May interact with external vendors to develop and leverage relationships to build creative solutions and improve delivery capabilities for hardware-centric services. Responsible for assisting in technical and pre-sales activities to help achieve revenue growth objectives for the ALM business unit.

  • Project Oversight: Oversee the implementation of proposed solutions, working closely with project managers and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery on time and within budget, particularly for hardware asset management and end to end workplace IT projects. Maintains consistent, timely, and high-quality management reporting as outlined by ALM leadership.

  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks in proposed solutions and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes, with a focus on hardware and service delivery complexities.

  • Post-Implementation Support:  Based on the service design, summarize and outline requirements for transition & transformation. Provide post-implementation support to clients, addressing any technical issues or concerns and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Skills, Requirements and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Business / Technical preferred

  • 5+ years of Technical and Pre-Sales experience

  • Travel at least 25% per month, with fluctuations as high as 50% in a month a few times per year

  • Strong knowledge of IT Asset Management solutions, specifically regarding hardware lifecycle (procurement, deployment, refresh, disposition) in both corporate end-user and data center environments.

  • Proven experience with Device as a Service (DaaS) models and their implementation.

  • Good knowledge of cross functional services (governance, service management, ITIL, etc.)

  • Preferred: Pre-sales experience in service or outsourcing industry

  • Strong knowledge of the IT Hardware market sector, including vendor landscapes and emerging technologies. Very good understanding of the market, competition & market pricing

  • Technical Expertise: A strong background in designing and implementing complex B2B solutions, including comprehensive hardware asset management, DaaS, and system integration within workplace IT environments.

  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with B2B services, IT service management, help desk, Service Now, and relevant enterprise systems and solutions, with a strong understanding of how these integrate with hardware asset management and DaaS.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation abilities to convey complex technical concepts related to workplace IT service to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex business requirements to design innovative and efficient solutions for hardware lifecycle and workplace IT challenges.

  • Collaboration: Proven experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including sales, product management, engineering, and external partners, to deliver customer-centric solutions for hardware-related services.

  • Project Management: Experience in project management methodologies and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including those with significant hardware and service delivery components.

  • Customer Focus: A customer-centric mindset with a passion for delivering solutions that exceed client expectations in managing their IT hardware and workplace IT services.

  • Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing technologies, business needs, and market trends within the rapidly evolving hardware and service landscape.

    • Presentations and verbal communications to diverse groups.

Reasonably expected salary range: $138,500.00 - $184,700.00 + commissions.
