About BeHeard
BeHeard is a seed-stage startup backed by True Ventures, Menlo VC, Anthropic, and a handful of brilliant Angels. Our goal is to create a super-conductive layer of communication between customers, the brands that they love, and the employees of the brand–so that they can build better products and services together. Our first stop is the multi-billion dollar feedback market where we are rethinking stodgy numbers and surveys like NPS and CSAT.
About You and This Role
You are a senior-level engineer who can stand up reliable service endpoints with ease. You are comfortable being one of the first engineering hires at a fast-paced, dynamic startup. You will work directly with the CTO to design and deploy the backend for key pilot customers.
Core Responsibilities
- Implement courteous AI agents with long-term memories
- Build and support early, AI-first architectures and prototypes for our customers
- Partner with the CTO to balance craftsmanship with schedule
- Select appropriate technologies for the service layer
Qualifications
- Expert knowledge of AWS services like RDS, API Gateway, Lambda
- Senior-level expertise designing, maintaining, and scaling high-availability backend services
- Expert knowledge of databases ranging from Postgres to DynamoDB
- Languages: at least one of Python, Go, Rust. Preferably two.
- Commitment to code quality, code review, unit tests
- Working knowledge of Terraform and other infrastructure as code (IaC)
- Working knowledge of network security and encryption
- Willing to work on-site in the San Francisco Bay Area or Phoenix, AZ
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary of $150,000 - $250,000
- Equity of .5% - 1%, based on experience and salary expectations
