The Role
Howard is looking for an Accounting Director to lead our Hospitality vertical. You will oversee the financial systems for a diverse set of hospitality clients, ensuring their operations are supported by reliable data and repeatable processes.
You will manage an amazing team of 30+ of accounting professionals and act as the senior point of contact for a portfolio of growth-stage clients. Your goal is to move clients from financial chaos to quiet control.
Core Responsibilities- System Oversight: Design and maintain centralized financial systems for hospitality operators ($3–100M in revenue) that hold under the pressure of rapid scaling.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and audit a large accounting team. Ensure every deliverable meets Howard’s standards for accuracy and composure.
- Vertical Performance: Direct the financial health of the Hospitality vertical. This includes controlled payroll, predictable multi-unit reporting, and cash flow visibility.
- Client Advisory: Provide senior-level perspective. Help founders and operators see the full picture so they can make decisions with confidence.
- Operational Stability: Standardize documented processes across the vertical to remove single points of failure and dependencies on individuals.
- Experience: 10+ years in senior accounting roles, with a dedicated focus on the hospitality industry. Experience in a large corporate hotel company is a plus.
- Leadership: Proven track record of managing large, high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Mastery of GAAP, complex payroll structures, and multi-entity consolidations.
