As part of our growing Finance team, we are seeking an Accountant / Financial Analyst to support our accounting, financial reporting, and business analysis needs. This role is primarily focused on full-cycle accounting and month-end reporting, while also contributing to management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. The successful candidate will initially focus on accounting responsibilities and gradually assume broader financial analysis responsibilities based on business needs, demonstrated capability, and professional development.


The ideal candidate is a strong accountant who enjoys working with financial data, takes pride in accuracy and efficiency, and is interested in expanding their analytical and business partnering skills over time.


Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Reporting – 70%

  • Perform full-cycle accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet schedules and supporting working papers
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts
  • Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, and cash management activities as required
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting processes
  • Assist with audit preparation and respond to auditor requests
  • Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and compliant with accounting standards and internal policies
  • Support improvements to accounting procedures, documentation, and internal controls

Financial Analysis & Business Support -20%

  • Assist in preparing monthly management reports, including actual versus budget and prior-year comparisons
  • Support variance analysis and investigate significant fluctuations in revenue, expenses, and margins
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting
  • Support pricing, cost, and profitability analysis
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses to support management decision-making
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of KPI reporting and performance dashboards

Systems & Process Improvement – 10%

  • Support accounting and ERP systems to ensure data accuracy and reporting integrity
  • Assist with reporting automation, data validation, and process improvements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, Marketing, HR, and other departments
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Finance department

Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience performing full-cycle accounting and month-end close activities
  • Knowledge of Canadian accounting standards (ASPE experience is an asset)
  • Experience with accounting or ERP systems
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders

Assets

  • Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, or variance analysis
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Query, or other reporting tools
  • CPA designation or CPA candidate
  • CFA candidate or completion of CFA Level I

Work Location

  • Onsite at our headquarters in Richmond, BC.
  • The successful candidate must be available to start onsite from the first day of employment.
  • No relocation allowance will be provided.
