Department OverviewThe Software Enterprise Sales team is a group within Motorola Solutions, Inc. that provides industry leading, next generation Citizen Engagement, 9-1-1 Call Taking, Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management, Jail Management, Public Service 311, and analytics software applications to the Public Safety and Public Service markets. No other company has the breadth and depth of technology and experience to deliver end to end public safety applications and mission critical voice and data communications systems.
Job Description

Responsibilities of the Account Executive include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for sales, strategic account planning and overall relationship management for a number of size-specific “target” customers in North & South Carolina

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales plan for each “target” account and/or geography and their buying centers, covering the full portfolio of Motorola products and services (core and emerging technologies) Primarily CAD and RMS

  • Assemble and coordinate a diverse team of internal & external sales resources to assess customer's needs and address their requirements

  • Act as a trusted advisor to influence customer’s technology platform decisions and develop preference and loyalty for Motorola Solutions

  • Proactively develop large project opportunities encompassing a wide range of products and services

  • Proactively engage and lead channel partners in selling Motorola products and services to customers buying centers where appropriate

  • Develop strong relationships with key decision makers and influencers within and outside of public safety; Sheriff, Mayor, CIO, Police Chief, Fire Chief and other officials in order to understand and influence technology and funding priorities

  • Proactively engage Motorola executive sponsors to build a strategic relationship to position long-term opportunities for Motorola

  • Develop Motorola procurement vehicles for multiple solutions to be leveraged across an entire account

  • Track, set strategy and complete Request for proposals as the industry lead

  • Develop and maintain an opportunity pipeline that shows increased yearly growth

  • Provide product demonstrations to customers where appropriate or when demonstration resources are unavailable

  • Participate in industry committees on behalf of Motorola

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of sales experience

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

  • Product demonstration/public safety experience is required

  • Sales experience in a technical field, computer software industry, or government sales preferred

  • Experience selling to multiple levels, project stakeholders, and committees a plus

  • Experience with large ticket products having long sales cycles beneficial

  • Ability to articulate and sell enterprise software solutions

  • Highly driven and self-motivated

  • Consistently proactive toward lead and opportunity qualification and development processes

  • Possess excellent communication skills and have demonstrated problem-solving and negotiating skills

  • Possess both consultative and relationship-based sales qualities when engaging with prospective customers

  • Familiar with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) upkeep, management, forecasting, and maintenance of sales pipeline activities

  • Possess creative and persuasive presentation and verbal communication skills

  • Proven time management skills are critical

  • Ability to continually qualify strength and viability of opportunities throughout dynamic sales process is crucial

  • “Pleasant Persistence” is a virtue in this position 

  • This position is to be supporting the Carolinas

  • The candidate must live in the described territory

  • Travel within territory 50-75%
