The 5G Baseband software development team has multiple positions to fill. They include:
  • Develop and contribute to new traffic test coverage into Ericsson test engine. Feature analysis/code review/soaking/documentation, lab readiness and timely handover to the testing loops are just some of the tasks involved.
  • Assist in the definition of the integration, verification, and release of new lab builds which supports Ericsson test strategies
  • Support the robustness of the 5G mobile network through continuous automated testing of the 5G features. Execute resolutions to failures, via troubleshooting, escalation, collaboration and reporting progress for the eventual solution.

What you will do:
  • Developing/coding automated 5G test cases
  • Developing/coding automated test tools capabilities
  • Developing real-time 5G base station software
  • Developing and supporting software build and integration tools
  • Troubleshooting and helping to resolve issues with the test environment
  • Working with a team, and on your own, to perform software integration testing in the lab
  • Working in 5G simulations testing signal processing, including in AI/ML
  • Assisting in the investigation of issues uncovered during testing
  • Lab equipment configuration and set-up
  • Generating test data for design validation
  • Reviewing software designs and test plans
  • Execute test manually on 5G lab equipment
  • Developing test tools and/or test scripts
  • Reporting on test results
  • Developing command-line and web-based tools, to support software development
  • Collaborating with colleagues using an Agile way of working

The skills you bring:
  • Technical requirements: Software development and debugging skills
  • Strong expertise in Java. Python and C++ are assets
  • Experience in AI/ML. Hands-on experience applying AI to QA use cases (e.g., test development agents) is an asset.
  • Strong assets include experience with Linux, Gerrit, Maven, SonarQube, Git, Jenkins and CI pipelines
  • Experience in test automation and related tools like TestNG, Junit is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of LTE and/or 5G wireless protocols
  • Academic background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent. (bachelors, masters, or doctoral degree)
  • Interpersonal skills: Independent, self-starter, team player, organization skills, detail oriented and able to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective English oral and written communications skills.

Your Pay
The salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
The yearly salary range for this position is
• $69,000 CAD - $90,300 CAD
Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan (select if STV): Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit's objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Your Financial Security
We invest in both your short and long-term financial wellbeing. Ericsson's Group Retirement & Savings Program offers an automatic 2% company contribution into the Pension Plan. Ericsson also offers a 50% match of employee's contribution into the Registered Retirement Savings Plan, up to 8% of the employee's contribution (maximum of 4% match). This leads to a total company contribution potential of 6%. Employees will also receive basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage at two-times annual base pay at no cost, as well as short-term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson's Stock Purchase Plan.
Your Time
Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 18 days of accrued vacation, plus at least 3personal days, minimum 10 holidays, 1 volunteer day, and sick days. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee's start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 10 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
