Coordinates jobsite safety, communicates with train dispatchers and engineers, conducts briefings, manages track warning equipment and derails, completes electronic reports, and ensures compliance with railroad safety rules. The role requires extensive travel, overnight stays, physical handling of equipment, recurring training, background checks, and drug and alcohol testing.

Serve as Roadway Worker In Charge (RWIC) providing on-track safety and jobsite coordination for work around live railroad tracks. Perform radio communications with dispatchers, conduct daily job briefings, grant train movement permissions, prepare electronic reports/forms, place signs/derails, handle equipment, maintain communication with supervisors, attend safety training, and travel frequently across multiple western states with overnight stays.
