Job DescriptionAECOM Canada is hiring a Technical Advisory Director. This role is based in any major AECOM office.
Over the past number of years, AECOM has built a successful practice in supporting owners of major transportation infrastructure projects in the provision of Owner’s Engineer and Technical Advisory services across Canada. Recent examples include the Finch Light Rail Transit project, Highway 427 Extension project, Ottawa Light Rail Transit projects Eglinton Crosstown West Extension project and GO Rail Expansion On-Corridor Works project. AECOM is now seeking a senior leader for the Technical Advisory Group, delivering owner-side services on major complex multi-disciplinary Alternative Delivery (P3, DB, PDB, IDP Alliance) transportation projects.
The role can be based in any major city in Canada.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Overall project management and leadership in delivering major (multimillion or billion dollar) transportation projects.
- Defining project scope, developing project plans, developing project schedules and developing and tracking fee estimates and project baselines and budgets.
- Tracking project progress of deliverables, milestones and other commitments to clients.
- Determining and taking corrective actions on contractual, technical and commercial issues
- Building, organizing and motivating project teams and managing daily activities and resources
- Identifying services to be provided by external companies and negotiating agreements
- Chairing internal and external or client meetings representing AECOM
- Ensuring client satisfaction and overseeing quality review process for submittals
- Analyzing and managing project risk
- Managing reports and necessary documentation
- Developing policies and procedures to support the achievement of project objectives
- Business development / developing opportunity leads, and actively leading the positioning for and preparation of proposals to win new work.
- Non-project management project, or non-core, work could include some or all of design reviews, scheduling, report writing, presenting.
- Direct leadership responsibility for a large multi-disciplinary team of project managers, engineers, project control specialists, and other staff.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor Degree + 10 years of relevant experience (YORE) including a minimum of two years of leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in engineering or relevant discipline
- Ideally of 15+ years of relevant experience
- Delivery of multidiscipline transportation infrastructure major projects an asset
- Experience with design team and client team management preferred
- Experience with preparation and delivery of presentation to clients and large audiences needed
- Strong knowledge of Alternative Delivery procurement models
- Proven experience in Project Management and Design Management of Alternative Delivery (P3, DB, PDB, IDP Alliance) projects, supporting owners in the achievement of their objectives.
