We are seeking an insightful and collaborative leader to manage our Product Owner team, which is responsible for delivering a broad portfolio of software products. This role will oversee a team of experienced Product Owners who translate customer needs into actionable product requirements, and ensure continuous alignment across R&D, QA, support, marketing, and other key functions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software technical marketing, agile methodologies, and cross-functional leadership. This role is pivotal in driving the execution of product features, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
You should bring comprehensive knowledge of product ownership, and have experience working with globally distributed, multifunctional teams. The team you will lead is based in both the USA and Europe. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for success in this position. You’ll be working closely with R&D, product management, product support, quality, and service delivery teams.
A solid understanding of technical architecture, constraints, and opportunities across the product portfolio is also required. Experience in the following areas is preferred: web applications, APIs, laboratory instrument data integrations, data analytics, enterprise systems such as LIMS and ERP, AI/ML technologies and techniques.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of Product Owners; oversee team operations.
- Define and own team processes (in concert with other divisional PO leaders), including Product Owner workflows and cross-functional collaboration throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Maintain and improve team acumen by planning and implementing partnerships, mentoring, and formal training programs
- Define roles, responsibilities, and resource needs based on a deep understanding of team functions.
- Exercise autonomy in resolving technical and operational challenges within the department.
- Resolve conflicting priorities and provide guidance on complex challenges and assignments.
- Collaborate internally and externally on topics related to organizational goals and processes.
- Lead projects or initiatives with impact beyond the immediate team.
- Sponsor a culture of continuous improvement within the team, by advocating for a growth mindset and personal / career development
- Bachelor's or master's degree (or equivalent) with relevant experience.
- Preferably 2+ years of experience formally or informally leading people, projects, or programs.
- 7+ years of experience working on product delivery teams as a product manager, technical product manager, product owner, project manager, or similar role.
- Product delivery experience should include at least 2 years specifically with software application products
- Working knowledge of an analytical laboratory is a plus
