This is a unique opportunity to combine HR operations with a hands-on understanding of the animation production environment, helping our teams thrive while keeping HR processes running smoothly.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, distribute, and track employment contracts and extensions.
  • Support onboarding for new hires, ensuring a positive and seamless start-to-studio experience.
  • Oversee employee transitions between shows, coordinating with IT, producers, and supervisors, and providing context on performance, goals, or development needs.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and update workflow documents to ensure consistency and clarity.
  • Deliver or support training on HR processes, onboarding, and mobility workflows.
  • Collaborate with HODs and producers to understand staffing needs, address HR-related concerns, and share best practices.
  • Assist with HR initiatives related to performance, engagement, and contracts.
  • Act as a liaison between HR and production staff to align on staffing and movements.

Qualifications:

  • You have 1+ years of experience in animation, VFX, or a related creative industry.
  • Experience in a unionized environment.
  • You’ve worked in HR, people operations, or administrative support and are comfortable managing contracts, onboarding, or employee records.
  • You are confident working with production staff, HODs, and producers, balancing HR processes with creative needs.
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to explain processes clearly and build trust across teams.
  • You’re highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • You are proactive and a problem-solver, flagging issues early and offering solutions.
  • Experience updating workflow documentation or delivering training is a plus.
  • Familiarity with HRIS, applicant tracking systems, or production tracking tools is preferred.
